Doctors, Babysitting and Moving

Greetings, family!

I realized to my chagrin that I haven't updated this blog for an entire month! That's a 1/6 of Elia's whole life, so I apologize for my lapse. It merely shows that my time is being more consumed by an active (and needy) baby girl.

At this point Elia is 6 1/2 months. Her half year was celebrated by a doctor's visit that included 3 shots--ouch! She was a trooper though, and received a clean bill of health along with her Sesame Street bandaids. At that point she weighed in at 17.6 lbs and is 27 inches long--that's the 90th percentile for height! Where is she getting these tall genes from?

September started a season of babysitting for me. I now have regular gigs watching 19 children Wednesday mornings at church (with help, thank goodness) and a little girl in our neighborhood once or twice a week. Her name is Amelia and she is a precious 2 year old. I've also babysat for some friends just for fun, including one time last week for a 4 yo, 3 yo, and a baby only 10 days younger than Elia. 4 kiddos was a lot, but really fun!

Other notables in our life are enjoying the fall weather, getting ready to move (if we can ever find a house) and "sleep training" Elia. The leaves are gorgeous these days and we are attempting to do some fall activities. Hopefully we'll get lots of cute pictures! We are still searching for a house, but there's not much out there, and what is good goes fast. And the sleep training is going far better than expected--two nights this week Elia slept 6+ hours straight! Woohoo! Did I mention she is also cutting two teeth? Hopefully I can get a good picture of that soon.

Thanks for reading! I'll leave you all with a couple more cute pictures. :)

Can you find the baby? Elia likes to fold laundry with me!
